92_SJ0042eng 92SJ0042 Engrossed LRB9210797NTpk 1 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 42 2 (As amended by Senate Amendment No. 2) 3 WHEREAS, The State Board of Education has filed its 4 Report on Waiver of School Code Mandates, dated September 28, 5 2001, with the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the 6 Secretary of State of Illinois as required by Section 2-3.25g 7 of the School Code; and 8 WHEREAS, We are disapproving school district requests for 9 waivers relating to substitute certificates because Public 10 Act 92-184 just became law on July 27, 2001, allowing certain 11 substitute teachers to teach for more than 90 days, and this 12 change in current law is for only 3 years while the waiver 13 request is for 5 years; therefore, be it 14 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF 16 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that each of the school 17 district waiver requests identified below by school district 18 name and by the identifying number and subject area of the 19 waiver request as summarized in the report filed by the State 20 Board of Education is disapproved: 21 (1) Mount Prospect SD 57 - Cook, WM 100-2072, 22 statement of affairs; 23 (2) Lake Bluff ESD 65 - Lake, WM 100-1885-3, 24 substitute certificates; 25 (3) Ridgewood CHSD 234 - Cook, WM 100-1890, 26 substitute certificates; 27 (4) Savanna CUD 300 - Carroll, WM 100-1891, 28 substitute certificates; 29 (5) Norridge SD 80 - Cook, WM100-1914-3, substitute 30 certificates; and 31 (6) East Prairie SD 73 - Cook, WM 100-1986, 32 substitute certificates.
