92_SB2018eng SB2018 Engrossed LRB9214058ACsb 1 AN ACT concerning higher education. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended 5 by adding Section 2-16.07 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 805/2-16.07 new) 7 Sec. 2-16.07. Career and Technical Education Fund. The 8 Career and Technical Education Fund is created as a special 9 fund in the State treasury. The Comptroller shall order 10 transferred and the State Treasurer shall transfer from the 11 Federal Department of Education Fund into the Career and 12 Technical Education Fund such amounts as may be directed in 13 writing by the State Board of Education. All moneys so 14 deposited into the Career and and Technical Education Fund 15 may be used, subject to appropriation, by the State Board for 16 operational expenses associated with the administration of 17 Career and Technical Education, for payment of Career and 18 Technical Education grants to colleges, and for payment of 19 costs relating to State leadership activities, as provided by 20 the United States Department of Education. 21 Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding 22 Section 5.570 as follows: 23 (30 ILCS 105/5.570 new) 24 Sec. 5.570. The Career and Technical Education Fund. 25 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 26 becoming law.
