1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2016
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 2016, AS AMENDED,
3 in Section 10, by replacing all of Sec. 3-6037 with the
4 following:
5 "(55 ILCS 5/3-6037) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-6037)
6 Sec. 3-6037. Salary of Supervisor of Safety. The county
7 board may allow the Supervisor of Safety an annual salary in
8 an amount determined by the board. not to exceed the
9 following:
10 In counties of less than 20,000 population, the sum of
11 $1,500;
12 In counties of 20,000 or more and less than 30,000
13 population, the sum of $2,000;
14 In counties of 30,000 or more and less than 50,000
15 population, the sum of $2,500;
16 In counties of 50,000 or more and less than 75,000
17 population, the sum of $3,000;
18 In counties of 75,000 or more and less than 100,000
19 population, the sum of $3,500;
20 In counties of 100,000 or more and less than 500,000
21 population, the sum of $4,000;
22 In counties of 500,000 or more population, the sum of
23 $4,500.

1 The word "population" when used in this section shall
2 mean the population as determined by the last preceding
3 Federal Census.
4 The salary determined under this Section These salaries
5 shall be without regard to and separate from the salary
6 salaries that may be fixed by the county board for the
7 Sheriff, and it shall be payable out of the County Treasury.
