Amend Senate Bill 1545 as follows: 3 on page 2, line 32, by replacing "superintendent" with 4 "principal"; and 5 on page 2, line 33, by deleting "district"; and 6 on page 2, line 33, by replacing "date" with "mutually agreed 7 upon time"; and 8 on page 2, line 33, after the period, by inserting "However, 9 no more than 2 routine inspections may be made in a calendar 10 year."; and 11 on page 5, line 22, after the period, by inserting "Upon 12 being notified by a fire official that corrective action must 13 be taken to resolve a violation, the school board shall take 14 corrective action within one year. However, violations that 15 present imminent danger must be addressed immediately."; and 16 on page 6, line 10, by replacing "If" with the following: 17 "The local fire department or fire protection district 18 where the school is being constructed or altered may request 19 a review of the plans and specifications. The regional 20 superintendent of schools shall submit a copy of the plans 21 and specifications within 10 business days after the request. -2- LRB9211370NTpkam02 1 The fire department or fire protection district may comment 2 on the plans and specifications based on the building code 3 authorized in Section 2-3.12 of the Code and, if any 4 corrective action must be taken, shall respond to the 5 regional superintendent of schools within 15 days after 6 receipt of the plans and specifications. The Office of the 7 State Fire Marshal may review the plans and specifications at 8 the request of the fire department or fire protection 9 district. The review must be conducted at no cost to the 10 school district. 11 If"; and 12 on page 6, by deleting lines 16 through 33; and 13 on page 7, by deleting lines 1 and 2.
