1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Federal taxes are the highest they have ever
3 been during peacetime; and
4 WHEREAS, All taxpayers should be allowed to keep more of
5 their own money; and
6 WHEREAS, The best way to encourage economic growth is to
7 cut marginal tax rates across all tax brackets; and
8 WHEREAS, Under current law, low-income workers often pay
9 the highest marginal rates; and
10 WHEREAS, President Bush's tax relief plan will contribute
11 to raising the standard of living for all Americans; and
12 WHEREAS, President Bush's tax relief plan will increase
13 access to the middle class for hard working families, treat
14 all middle class families more fairly, encourage
15 entrepreneurship and growth, and promote charitable giving
16 and education; and
17 WHEREAS, Under President Bush's tax relief plan, the
18 largest percentage reductions will go to the lowest-income
19 earners; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we urge our elected representatives in the United States
23 Congress to support and work to pass the tax relief plan
24 proposed by President Bush; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to each member of the Illinois congressional
27 delegation.
