92_HB4405 LRB9212946LBpr 1 AN ACT concerning home inspectors. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Home Inspector License Act is amended by 5 changing Section 5-15 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 441/5-15) 7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2012) 8 Sec. 5-15. Practice prior to this Act. A person who has 9 actively and lawfully practiced as a home inspector in the 10 State of Illinois prior to the effective date of this Act may 11 take the examination required by subsection (4) of Section 12 5-10 without having successfully completed the classroom 13 hours required under subsection (5) of Section 5-10, provided 14 that he or she: 15 (1) is a resident of thistheStateof Illinois; 16 (2) makes application to OBRE on forms provided by 17 OBRE within 6 months after the effective date of this 18 Act; 19 (3) verifies that he or she has practiced as a home 20 inspector for a period of at least 2 years prior to the 21 effective date of this Act; and 22 (4) verifies that he or she has conducted a minimum 23 of 200 home inspections that meet the standards 24 established by rule within the 2 years prior to the 25 effective date of this Act. 26 (Source: P.A. 92-239, eff. 8-3-01.)
