92_HB4108ham001 LRB9211876BDdvam01 1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4108 2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 4108 on page 1, by 3 replacing lines 6 through 23 with the following: 4 "Section 5. Intent. It is the intent of the General 5 Assembly that the negative impact of State budget shortfalls 6 be partially absorbed by the members of the General Assembly 7 in order to balance the cuts of the pay of other State 8 employees imposed by the Governor. 9 Section 10. Salary reduction. Notwithstanding any other 10 provision of law to the contrary, each member of the General 11 Assembly is subject to a one-time, temporary salary reduction 12 for State fiscal year 2002 only. The one-time, temporary 13 salary reduction shall be equal to one working-day's salary 14 for each member. For the purpose of this Act, "one 15 working-day's salary" means the member's base salary, as 16 determined by the Compensation Review Board, divided by 260. 17 The reduction shall be reflected in the paycheck received for 18 the first pay period in June, 2002.".
