92_HB3579eng HB3579 Engrossed LRB9201905MWdvA 1 AN ACT in relation to campaign expenditures. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Section 5 9-14.5 as follows: 6 (10 ILCS 5/9-14.5 new) 7 Sec. 9-14.5. Personal expenditure limits. A candidate 8 may, in writing, limit expenditures, as defined in Section 9 9-1.5, of the candidate and his or her political committees 10 from personal moneys of the candidate to $50,000, in the 11 aggregate, or less in connection with a primary election and 12 $50,000, in the aggregate, or less in connection with a 13 general election. The agreement must be filed with, and at 14 the same time as, the candidate's petitions for nomination. 15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 16 becoming law.
