1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3579
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3579, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding
6 Section 9-14.5 as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/9-14.5 new)
8 Sec. 9-14.5. Personal expenditure limits. A candidate
9 may, in writing, limit expenditures, as defined in Section
10 9-1.5, of the candidate and his or her political committees
11 from personal moneys of the candidate to $50,000, in the
12 aggregate, or less in connection with a primary election and
13 $50,000, in the aggregate, or less in connection with a
14 general election. The agreement must be filed with, and at
15 the same time as, the candidate's petitions for nomination.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.".
