Provides that the deputy attorney of the District shall be appointed by the General Superintendent and is not subject to civil service examination. Effective immediately. STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs) HB557 does not create a State mandate. HOME RULE NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs) HB557 does not preempt home rule authority. JUDICIAL NOTE (Administrative Office of Ill. Courts) HB557 would not increase the number of judges needed. STATE DEBT NOTE (Economic and Fiscal Commission) The bill would not increase the level of State indebtedness. BALANCED BUDGET NOTE (Bureau of the Budget) Since HB557 is not a supplemental appropriation, the Balanced Budget Not Act is inapplicable.
