1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1076
2 AMENDMENT NO. ____. Amend Senate Bill 1076, on page 2,
3 by replacing lines 1 through 16 with the following:
4 "(b) The Department may also inspect licensed nuclear
5 power plants that have permanently ceased operations. The
6 inspections shall be performed by inspectors qualified as
7 Illinois resident inspectors. The inspectors need not be
8 resident at nuclear power plants that have permanently ceased
9 operations. The inspectors shall conduct inspections in
10 accordance with a cooperative agreement executed by the
11 Department and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and shall
12 have access to the nuclear power plants that have permanently
13 ceased operations; provided, however, that the Illinois
14 inspectors shall have no greater access than is afforded to
15 inspectors of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The owner of
16 each of the nuclear power plants that has permanently ceased
17 operations shall provide, at its expense, office space and
18 equipment reasonably required by the inspectors while they
19 are on the premises of the nuclear power plants.".
