1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1072
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1072 on page 1,
3 immediately below line 3, by inserting the following:
4 "Section 2. For and in consideration of the sum of $1,
5 the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University is
6 authorized to convey, by quitclaim deed executed by the
7 chairperson and attested by the secretary of the Board of
8 Trustees of Southern Illinois University, to the Board of
9 Trustees of Lewis and Clark Community College District No.
10 536 all rights, title, and interest of the Board of Trustees
11 of Southern Illinois University in and to the following
12 described real estate:
13 Parcel 1:
14 A parcel of land, known as Lot 8 of the Subdivision
15 of Block 1, Leclaire, as the same appears in Plat Book 6
16 Page 19; (Except coal and other minerals underlying, with
17 right to mine and remove same from thereunder), in
18 Madison County, Illinois.
19 Parcel 2:
20 A tract of land situated in the Southeast Quarter of
21 Section 11, Township 4 North, Range 8 West of the Third
22 Principal Meridian, within the corporate limits of the
23 City of Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois; being

1 more particularly Lots 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 and the
2 Northerly portion of Lot 20 of the Subdivision of Block
3 1, Leclaire, a Subdivision of said Edwardsville,
4 Illinois, and of record in Plat Book 6, Page 19 and Lots
5 9, 10, 11 and 16 of the Revised Plat of Lots 9, 10, 11
6 and 16 of Block 1, Leclaire, as the same appears in Plat
7 Book 7, Page 15 and all abutting or contiguous streets
8 and alleys as vacated by Ordinance Number 628 a copy of
9 which was recorded March 3, 1948 as Document 114-618, in
10 Book 1007 Page 388 and Ordinance Number 851 a copy of
11 which was recorded as Document 124-4123 all being more
12 fully described as follows:
13 From a point at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 1,
14 of the Subdivision of Block 1 Leclaire, a Subdivision of
15 the City of Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, as
16 the same appears in Plat Book Number 6 Page 19 and which
17 said point being at the Southwest corner of Brown Street
18 and Wolf Street, in said Edwardsville, Illinois, measure
19 200.0 feet South 0 degrees 42 minutes East along the said
20 West line of Brown Street to a point at the Northeast
21 corner of Lot 9 Block 1, said Subdivision of Block 1
22 Leclaire, and which said point is the point of beginning
23 of the tract hereinafter described and conveyed; thence
24 continuing South 0 degrees 42 minutes East, from said
25 beginning point, and along the said West line of Brown
26 Street, and its Southerly extension across the 16.0 foot
27 alley situated between Lot 9 and Lots 10 and 11, said
28 Block 1, Subdivision of Block 1 Leclaire, for 105.71 feet
29 to a point at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 10 of the
30 Revised Plat of Lots 9-10-11 and 16 of Block 1 Leclaire,
31 as the same appears in Plat Book Number 7 Page 15: thence
32 South 69 degrees 04 minutes East, and along a
33 Southeasterly extension of the said Northeasterly line of
34 said Lot Number 10 of the said Revised Plat of Lots

2 point 7.5 feet West of, measured at right angles, to the
3 West line of a 15.0 foot alley along the West side of
4 Block 1 of Metcalfe Place, an addition to the said City
5 of Edwardsville, Illinois, and of record in Plat Book
6 Number 6, Page 1; thence South 0 degrees 50 minutes East,
7 7.5 feet West of, measured at right angles, and parallel
8 with the said West line of the 15.0 foot alley along the
9 West side of Block 1 of said Metcalfe Place, for 67.0
10 feet; thence North 69 degrees 04 minutes West for 0.54
11 feet to a point 8.0 feet West of, measured at right
12 angles, to the said West line of the alley along the West
13 side of Block 1 Metcalfe Place; thence South 0 degrees 50
14 minutes East, 8.0 feet West of, measured at right angles,
15 and parallel with the said West line of the alley along
16 the West side of Block 1, Metcalfe Place, for 299.87 feet
17 to a point of curve; thence Southerly and Southwesterly
18 along a curve to the right, having a radius of 25 feet,
19 and a central angle of 81 degrees 05 minutes, for 35.38
20 feet, to a point of tangent, and which said tangent point
21 is 37.0 feet Northwesterly of, measured at right angles,
22 to the Northwesterly line of Lot 21 of the Subdivision of
23 Block 1 Leclaire; thence South 80 degrees 15 minutes
24 West, 37.0 feet Northwesterly of, measured at right
25 angles to, and parallel with the said Northwesterly line
26 of said Lot 21 of the Subdivision of Block 1 Leclaire,
27 and along the Northwesterly line of a fifty foot street,
28 without name, for 274.35 feet to a point on the
29 Northeasterly extension of the Westerly line of the
30 continuation of Hale Avenue and Holyoake Road in said
31 Leclaire; thence South 21 degrees 11 minutes West and
32 along the said Northeasterly extension of the
33 continuation of Hale Avenue and Holyoake Road, in said
34 Leclaire, for 58.01 feet; thence South 80 degrees 33

2 minutes West for 201.92 feet to a point on the Easterly
3 line of Troy Road, in said Leclaire; thence North 11
4 degrees 29 minutes West along the Easterly line of Troy
5 Road for 39.3 feet to a point on the Southeasterly right
6 of way line of the New York Chicago and St. Louis
7 Railroad (Nickel Plate Railroad), which said point being
8 50.0 feet Southeasterly of, measured at right angles to,
9 the center line of the main track of the said New York
10 Chicago and St. Louis Railroad; thence North 20 degrees
11 35 minutes East 50.0 feet Southeasterly of, measured at
12 right angles to, and parallel with the center line of the
13 said main track of the New York Chicago and St. Louis
14 Railroad and also following along the Southeasterly right
15 of way line of said Railroad, for 676.3 feet; thence
16 South 69 degrees 04 minutes East for 30.0 feet; thence
17 North 20 degrees 52 minutes East and along the
18 Southwesterly extension of, and the Northwesterly line of
19 Lots 11 and 12 of the Subdivision of Block 1 Leclaire,
20 for 179.50 feet to a point at the Northwest corner of Lot
21 11, said Subdivision of Block 1 Leclaire; thence south 69
22 degrees 04 minutes East and along the Northeasterly line
23 of said Lot 11, Subdivision of Block 1, Leclaire, for
24 115.84 feet; thence North 21 degrees 47 minutes East and
25 along a Southwesterly extension of, and along the
26 Northwesterly line of Lot 9 of the Subdivision of Block 1
27 Leclaire, for 20.5 feet to a point at the Northwest
28 corner of said Lot 9, of the Subdivision of Block 1
29 Leclaire; thence North 89 degrees 17 minutes East and
30 along the North line of said Lot 9, of the Subdivision of
31 Block 1 Leclaire, for 210.66 feet to the point of
32 beginning.

1 Section 3. The secretary of the Board of Trustees of
2 Southern Illinois University shall obtain a certified copy of
3 this Act within 60 days after its effective date and, upon
4 receipt of payment of the consideration of $1, shall record
5 the certified document in the Recorder's Office of Madison
6 County, Illinois.".
