1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 730
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 730 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 by adding
5 Section 5-160."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by
9 adding Section 5-160 as follows:
10 (705 ILCS 405/5-160 new)
11 Sec. 5-160. Representation by counsel. In a proceeding
12 under this Article, a minor who was under 13 years of age at
13 the time of the commission of an act that if committed by an
14 adult would be a violation of Section 9-1, 9-1.2, 9-2, 9-2.1,
15 9-3, 9-3.2, 9-3.3, 12-13, 12-14, 12-14.1, 12-15, or 12-16 of
16 the Criminal Code of 1961 must be represented by counsel
17 during the entire custodial interrogation of the minor.".
