91_SB0652ccr001 LRB9105695NTksccr 1 91ST GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2 CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT 3 ON SENATE BILL 652 4 ------------------------------------------------------------- 5 ------------------------------------------------------------- 6 To the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the 7 House of Representatives: 8 We, the conference committee appointed to consider the 9 differences between the houses in relation to House 10 Amendments Nos. 1, 2, and 3 to Senate Bill 652, recommend the 11 following: 12 (1) that the Senate concur in House Amendments Nos. 1, 13 2, and 3; and 14 (2) that Senate Bill 652, AS AMENDED, be further 15 amended, with reference to page and line numbers of House 16 Amendment No. 1, as follows: 17 on page 29, line 19, after "review.", by inserting the 18 following: 19 "During the period of the hearing officer's review of the 20 local school council's decision on whether or not to retain 21 the principal, the local school council shall maintain all 22 authority to search for and contract with a person to serve 23 as interim or acting principal, or as the principal of the 24 attendance center under a 4-year performance contract, 25 provided that any performance contract entered into by the 26 local school council shall be voidable or modified in 27 accordance with the decision of the hearing officer."; and 28 on page 32, lines 3 and 4, by deleting ", religion, national 29 origin, sexual orientation,"; and 30 on page 33, lines 25 and 26, by deleting ", religion, 31 national origin, sexual orientation,"; and 32 on page 54, by replacing lines 23 through 33 with the -2- LRB9105695NTksccr 1 following: 2 (3) (blank)failed or refused to comply with its3school improvement plan; or 4 (4) there is a failureotherwise failedor 5 refusal". 6 Submitted on May 26, 1999 7 s/Sen.
