1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2147
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2147 as follows:
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Illinois Promotion Act."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "Section 5. The Illinois Promotion Act is amended by
8 adding Section 4b as follows:
9 (20 ILCS 665/4b new)
10 Sec. 4b. Coordinating Committee. There is created a
11 Coordinating Committee of State agencies involved with
12 tourism in the State of Illinois. The Committee shall
13 consist of the Director of Commerce and Community Affairs as
14 chairman, the Lieutenant Governor, the Secretary of
15 Transportation or his or her designee, and the head executive
16 officer or or his or her designee of the following: the
17 Historic Preservation Agency; the Department of Natural
18 Resources; the Department of Agriculture; the Illinois Arts
19 Council; the Illinois Community College Board; the Board of
20 Higher Education; and the Grape and Wine Resources Council.
21 The Committee shall also include 4 members of the Illinois

1 General Assembly, one of whom shall be named by the Speaker
2 of the House of Representatives, one of whom shall be named
3 by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, one
4 of whom who shall be named by the President of the Senate,
5 and one of whom shall be named by the Minority Leader of the
6 Senate. The Committee shall meet at least quarterly and at
7 other times as called by the chair. The Committee shall
8 coordinate the promotion and development of tourism
9 activities throughout State government.".
