1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 801
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 801 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Nursing and Advanced Practice
5 Nursing Act by changing Section 10-35."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing
9 Act is amended by changing Section 10-35 as follows:
10 (225 ILCS 65/10-35)
11 Sec. 10-35. Concurrent theory and clinical practice
12 education requirements. Except for those applicants who have
13 received advanced graduate degrees in nursing from an
14 approved program with concurrent theory and clinical
15 practice, The educational requirements of Section 10-30
16 relating to registered professional nursing and licensed
17 practical nursing shall not be deemed to have been satisfied
18 by the completion of any correspondence course or any program
19 of nursing that does not require coordinated or concurrent
20 theory and clinical practice. The Department may, upon
21 recommendation of the Board, grant an Illinois license to

1 those applicants who have received advanced graduate degrees
2 in nursing from an approved program with concurrent theory
3 and clinical practice or to those applicants who are
4 currently licensed in another state and have been actively
5 practicing clinical nursing for a minimum of 2 years.
