Allows the board of commissioners of a forest preserve district to transfer the interest earned from any moneys of the district to a fund of the district that is most in need of that interest income except for interest earned that has been earmarked or restricted by the board for a designated purpose or interest earned on any funds for purposes of tort immunity. Effective immediately. LRB9004066DNmb LRB9004066DNmb 1 AN ACT to amend the Downstate Forest Preserve District 2 Act by adding Section 13.8. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Downstate Forest Preserve District Act is 6 amended by adding Section 13.8 as follows: 7 (70 ILCS 805/13.8 new) 8 Sec. 13.8. Transfer of interest income. The board of 9 commissioners of a forest preserve district may transfer the 10 interest earned from any moneys of the district to a fund of 11 the district that is most in need of that interest income, as 12 determined by the board. This Section does not apply to any 13 interest earned that has been earmarked or restricted by the 14 board for a designated purpose. This Section does not apply 15 to any interest earned on any funds for purposes of Tort 16 Immunity under the Local Governmental and Governmental 17 Employees Tort Immunity Act. Interest earned on the exempted 18 funds shall be used only for the purposes authorized for the 19 respective exempted funds from which the interest earnings 20 were derived. 21 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 22 becoming law.
