    AN ACT concerning alcoholic liquor.
 
    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
 
    Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by
adding Section 9-2b as follows:
 
    (235 ILCS 5/9-2b new)
    Sec. 9-2b. Prohibition against sale of alcoholic liquor;
exception. Notwithstanding any provision in this Act to the
contrary, in any township that has voted to prohibit the retail
sale of alcoholic liquor under Section 9-2, the township board
may authorize the local liquor control commissioner to issue a
special event retailer's license (not-for-profit) authorizing
the sale of beer for up to 3 days per year for up to 3 years at
an agricultural show that is held on privately-owned property
that is within the township, but is not within the corporate
limits of a city, village, or incorporated town. This Section
is repealed 3 years after the effective date of this amendatory
Act of the 93rd General Assembly.
 
    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
