AN ACT concerning alcoholic liquor.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by |
adding Section 9-2b as follows: |

Sec. 9-2b. Prohibition against sale of alcoholic liquor; |
exception. Notwithstanding any provision in this Act to the |
contrary, in any township that has voted to prohibit the retail |
sale of alcoholic liquor under Section 9-2, the township board |
may authorize the local liquor control commissioner to issue a |
special event retailer's license (not-for-profit) authorizing |
the sale of beer for up to 3 days per year for up to 3 years at |
an agricultural show that is held on privately-owned property |
that is within the township, but is not within the corporate |
limits of a city, village, or incorporated town. This Section |
is repealed 3 years after the effective date of this amendatory |
Act of the 93rd General Assembly.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
