LINK-MOLARO-SILVERSTEIN AND HALVORSON. 35 ILCS 200/15-185 new Amends the Property Tax Code. Creates the disabled persons supplemental homestead exemption. Provides that for taxable years 2001 and thereafter, in addition to any other homestead exemption for which property is eligible, the assessed value of the property eligible for this homestead exemption under this Section shall be reduced by 45% after all other exemptions for which the property is eligible have been subtracted from that value. To be eligible a person must (i) be less than 65 years old, (ii) be disabled, and (iii) have a household income of $30,000 or less and meet the other eligibility and procedural requirements of the senior citizens assessment freeze homestead exemption besides age and income. Effective immediately.
