DAVIS,STEVE.

   New Act                                                                     

        Creates the Mandatory Overtime Limitation  Act.  Applies  to  all      
   private  and  public  employers,  including  the  State  and political      
   subdivisions of the State. Provides that, if an employee has worked 48      
   hours in a week, an employer may not  require  the  employee  to  work      
   additional  overtime  during  that week. Provides that, if an employee      
   has worked 12 hours in a 24 hour period, an employer may  not  require      
   the  employee  to work additional overtime during that 24 hour period.      
   Provides that additional overtime  shall  be  on  a  voluntary  basis.      
   Provides that the Act does not apply under specified circumstances,         
   but that an employee who works more than 48 hours in a week or 12           
   hours in a 24 hour period under those circumstances shall be paid at        
   twice his or her regular hourly rate. Provides that the refusal of any      
   employee to accept mandatory overtime may not be grounds for discrim-       
   ination, dismissal, discharge, retaliation, or an employment decision       
   adverse to the employee. Effective immediately.
