92_SR0574 LRB9218450KFkf 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Corrine Jule 4 Rose of Waukegan on December 8, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, She was born on January 24, 1926 in Waukegan; 6 she attended Immaculate Conception Grade School, graduated 7 from Holy Child High School, and was a member of Immaculate 8 Conception Church in Waukegan; and 9 WHEREAS, She worked at American Steel and Wire from 1944 10 to 1953 as Department head in payroll; in 1965, she started 11 with Waukegan Park District as District bookkeeper, was then 12 promoted to business manager of the district and retired as 13 director in 1986; that same year they renamed the 14 administration building the Corrine J. Rose Administration 15 Center; and 16 WHEREAS, She served on the Victory Hospital Board of 17 Directors for 7 years; she was treasurer of the board in 1987 18 and served 3 terms as secretary from 1989 to 1991; she was a 19 member of the Heart Association and Mah Jong Club; she was 20 elected as a Waukegan Township Trustee for 3 terms; she was 21 chairperson for the senior service committee for the township 22 and was instrumental in the development of Park Place the 23 Waukegan Township senior center; she was also elected 24 Waukegan Park District Commissioner in 1987 and served 3 25 terms; and 26 WHEREAS, She will be deeply missed by all her friends and 27 family, especially her four daughters, Kathryn "Kit" (Clifton 28 Goodenough) Rose, Jill (Fritz) Vowels, Susan (Ron) Sassone 29 and Julie (Don) Meadie; her grandchildren, Theresa (Frank 30 Pavek) Sassone, Caroline Vowels, Liza Vowels, Travis Sassone, 31 and Patrick Meadie; her brothers, James (Rosemary) Smith and 32 Stanley (Patricia) Smith; and her many loving nieces and -2- LRB9218450KFkf 1 nephews; and 2 WHEREAS, She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles 3 "Bud" Rose; and her parents, Stanley and Jule Smith; 4 therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 7 Corrine Jule Rose and extend our sincere condolences to her 8 family and friends; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 delivered to the family of Corrine Jule Rose.
