1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Leon F.
4 Bonifas of Aurora on Friday, August 2, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Bonifas was born on November 4, 1939 in
6 Aurora; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Bonifas was a 1957 graduate of Marmion
8 Military Academy; he was employed by and part owner of Alarm
9 Detection Systems; in 1991, he started Security Technologies,
10 Inc. and operated the business for 10 years until it was sold
11 in 2001; for the past three years, he was employed by
12 Fermilab as a fire system technician; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Bonifas was a member of the Turner Club and
14 the Amvets Post #103 and he was past president of the
15 Luxemburger Club; and
16 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
17 and friends, especially his wife, Christy Bonifas; his three
18 brothers, Robert Bonifas, Ted Bonifas, and Gary (Deborah)
19 Bonifas; his two stepchildren, Michelle Kipper and Bridget
20 Kipper; and his several grandchildren, nieces and nephews;
21 therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note, along with
24 all who knew and loved him, the passing of Leon F. Bonifas
25 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Leon F. Bonifas as an expression
29 of our sympathy.
