92_SR0486 LRB9217559RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends 4 of Claranette Sims-Jackson, who recently passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, Claranette Sims-Jackson was born in Magnolia, 6 Mississippi on December 22, 1929 to the union of Elijah and 7 Beatrice Sims; and 8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Sims-Jackson moved to Chicago, Illinois 9 after graduating from Pike County Training School in 10 Magnolia; she later joined Liberty Baptist Church, where she 11 was a faithful and devoted member and where she met and later 12 married Willie James Jackson; she was also a member of the 13 Olive Leaf Club; and 14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Sims-Jackson was a faithful employee at 15 General Motors until her retirement; and 16 WHEREAS, The passing of Claranette Sims-Jackson will be 17 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her 18 sisters, Lula (husband, Calvin) Cook and Mildred Robinson; 19 her goddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, 20 and friends; therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 23 all who knew her, the death of Claranette Sims-Jackson of 24 Chicago, Illinois; and be it further 25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 26 presented to the family of Claranette Sims-Jackson with our 27 sincere condolences.
