92_SR0390 LRB9216559RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Troy Lee Franklin, who passed away on March 20, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Troy Lee Franklin was born on November 1, 1936, 6 in Moscow, Tennessee, to the late Sam and Ethel Ledora 7 Franklin; he married Verna Mae Johnson on November 3, 1956; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Franklin confessed a hope in Christ at an 10 early age and was baptized at New Bethel Baptist Church in 11 Moscow, Tennessee; on October 23, 1999, he became a member of 12 the Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Franklin attended Franklin Elementary School 14 in Moscow, Tennessee; he was employed with the Memphis City 15 School Board of Education, where he retired in 1986; and 16 WHEREAS, The passing of Troy Lee Franklin will be deeply 17 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, 18 Verna Mae Franklin; his daughters, Yvonne (Kenneth) Davis, 19 Carol (Chris) Davis, Cynthia Franklin, Cathy Franklin, and 20 Mary Franklin; his sons, Troy Lee Franklin, Jr., Sam 21 Franklin, and Stanley (Rhonda) Franklin; his sisters, Nancy 22 Jean Wooddall, Lenora Aida, and Ada Wilder; his brothers, 23 J.D. Franklin, Leepoli (Patricia) Franklin, and L.C. (Alice) 24 Franklin; his 20 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren; 25 and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends; 26 therefore, be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 29 all who knew him, the death of Troy Lee Franklin; and be it 30 further 31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9216559RHrh 1 presented to the family of Troy Lee Franklin with our sincere 2 condolences.
