92_SR0366 LRB9216477RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Leonard Hess, who passed away on February 3, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Leonard Hess was born on May 30, 1939 in Haywood 6 County, Brownsville, Tennessee to the union of the late Eddie 7 L. and Kittie R. Hess; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Hess professed a faith in Christ at an early 9 age and united with Taylor's Chapel C.M.E. Church; he was 10 also very connected to his community church, Macedonia 11 Baptist Church, where he often attended; and 12 WHEREAS, With a zest for life, he shared with others his 13 humor, his passion for baseball and western movies, his 14 willingness to lend a hand in a time of need, and his 15 profound loved for his family; and 16 WHEREAS, The passing of Leonard Hess will be deeply felt 17 by all who knew and loved him, especially his former wife and 18 best friend, Eartha L. Hess; his daughters, Janet Hess Jones, 19 Sandra A. Hess Moll, and Robyn J. Hess; his son-in-law, 20 Benjamin F. Moll; his grandchildren, Shawnte, Hunter, Miles, 21 and Jessyca; his brothers, Peter L. (Lena) Hess and Edgar 22 Hess; his sisters, Florence E. Hegger and Gladys Odeneal; and 23 his nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 26 all who knew him, the death of Leonard Hess of Decatur, 27 Illinois; and be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to the family of Leonard Hess with our sincere 30 condolences.
