92_SR0296 LRB9213738RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Donald J. Baum, who passed away on January 8, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Donald J. Baum was born on January 23, 1927 in 6 Aurora, Illinois to John and Alice Baum; he was the husband 7 of the late June Baum; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Baum served his country in the United States 9 Navy during World War II; he later joined the Montgomery VFW 10 Post #7452, participated in the USS Cotten reunions, and was 11 a member of the Tin Can Sailors, a national association for 12 destroyer veterans; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Baum was the owner and operator of the Baum 14 Sign Co. until his retirement; and 15 WHEREAS, Mr. Baum loved to fish, deer hunt, and breed and 16 raise beagles for hunting, and he enjoyed restoring antique 17 farm tractors; in addition, he was a member of IBEW Local 18 #461 and a volunteer for the Sugar Grove Fire Department; and 19 WHEREAS, The passing of Donald J. Baum will be deeply 20 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, 21 Daniel (Shari) Baum and their daughter, Denise; his daughter, 22 Laurie (Bill) Maish and their children, Tammy (Cesar) 23 Alvarado, Jason (Cynthia) Armstrong, Sara Armstrong, and 24 Billy Maish; his great-grandchildren, Allison Alvarado, 25 Andrea Alvarado, Christian Armstrong and a soon to be 26 great-grandson; his sister, Doris Dixon; his brother, Alan 27 Baum; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Dillman; his special friend. 28 Mary Gee; and his several nieces, nephews, and friends; 29 therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 31 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with -2- LRB9213738RHrh 1 all who knew him, the death of Donald J. Baum of Aurora, 2 Illinois; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 4 presented to the family of Donald J. Baum with our sincere 5 condolences.
