92_SR0280 LRB9211786RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Virgil A. Imel, who passed away on January 4, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Virgil A. Imel was born on February 22, 1908 in 6 Hettick, Illinois, to Cleveland and Julia Starks Imel; he 7 married Rose Piascik in 1949; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Imel was a farmer and a construction worker 9 for the Illinois Highway Department; in addition, he was a 10 road commissioner for Bird Township, chief deputy at the 11 Macoupin County Sheriff's Department, and head of maintenance 12 at the Macoupin County Housing Department for 18 years; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Imel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in 14 Carlinville, the Macoupin County Historical Society, the 15 Masonic Lodge, and the Macoupin Shriners; and 16 WHEREAS, The passing of Virgil A. Imel will be deeply 17 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, 18 Rose; his daughters, Doris (husband, Ed) Falter and Shirley 19 (husband, Nelson) Falter; his stepdaughters, Ann Link, Nancy 20 Barley, and Carol (husband, Michael) Townsend; his 5 21 grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; his 9 22 step-grandchildren; his 16 step-great-grandchildren; his 6 23 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Ephraim "Huck" Imel; 24 and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 27 all who knew him, the death of Virgil A. Imel of Carlinville, 28 Illinois; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to the family of Virgil A. Imel with our sincere 31 condolences.
