1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Mary Elizabeth "Bette" Koehler, who passed away on October
5 10, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Koehler was born on July 13, 1923
7 in Springfield, Illinois to Justin and Blanche Jaeger; she
8 married Vincent W. Koehler on August 27, 1949 at St. Peters
9 Church in Geneva; and
10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Koehler attended and graduated from St.
11 Patricks School and Mt. St. Mary Academy of St. Charles; and
12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Koehler was a volunteer cook at the Hesed
13 House, a volunteer at the Geneva History Center and a
14 Literacy Tutor at the Illinois Youth Center; in addition, she
15 served as a Kane County Election Judge from 1960 through 2000
16 and was a founding member of St. John Neumann Church; and
17 WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Koehler had a great love of
18 flowers, birds, fishing, tennis, and Door County, Wisconsin;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, The passing of Mary Elizabeth Koehler will be
21 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her
22 husband, Vincent; her children, Peter (Grace) Koehler, Maggie
23 (Dan) Soliz, Mark Koehler, Kate (David) McCarty, Jane (Henry)
24 Speranzini, Sarah (Tom) Hustead, Andrew (Rina Martin)
25 Koehler, Martin (Laurie) Koehler, and Chanthabourne (Nora)
26 Tramany; her grandchildren, Anna, Michael, and Terrance
27 Koehler, Joseph, Jean, Marianne, and Samuel Soliz, Adam,
28 Nicholas, and Benjamin Koehler, Michael, Bradley, and Kevin
29 McCarty, Catherine and Jack Speranzini, Dane and Natalie
30 Hustead, Simon Koehler, Justin, Timothy, and Elizabeth
31 Koehler, and Nancy and Alex Tramany; her brothers and

1 sisters, Gene (Florence) Jaeger, Richard (Norma) Jaeger, Ann
2 (William) Cantrall, Mary Jaeger, and Eleanor Jaeger;
3 therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 all her knew her, the death of Mary Elizabeth Koehler of St.
7 Charles, Illinois; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Mary Elizabeth Koehler with our
10 sincere condolences.
