92_SR0177 LRB9209164RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Ann Landwirth Nickoll, who passed away on June 19, 2001; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, Ann Landwirth Nickoll was born on December 17, 7 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to Leonard and Leah Klein Landwirth; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, Ann Landwirth Nickoll earned a bachelor of arts 10 degree in art history from the University of Michigan; she 11 served as a volunteer art docent at Los Angeles County Art 12 Museum; and 13 WHEREAS, Ann Landwirth Nickoll worked as a real estate 14 broker for Mike Silverman & Associates for 17 years; and 15 WHEREAS, Ann Landwirth Nickoll served on the board of 16 directors of Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles and served as 17 head of the development committee; she was a founding member 18 of WISH (Women in the Senate & House), a political action 19 committee promoting pro-choice Republican women candidates 20 for elected office; she was twice appointed by then Governor 21 Pete Wilson to the California Council for the Humanities and 22 was twice a delegate to the Republican National Convention 23 from California; and 24 WHEREAS, Ann Landwirth Nickoll was a long-time member of 25 Temple Isaiah in Los Angeles; and 26 WHEREAS, The passing of Ann Landwirth Nickoll will be 27 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her 28 husband of 43 years, John F. Nickoll; her sons, Benjamin 29 (wife, Christine) and David (wife, Leigh); her grandchildren; 30 her brothers, Michael (wife, Trudy) Landwirth and Richard 31 (wife, Prabha) Landwirth; and her nieces and nephews; -2- LRB9209164RHrh 1 therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 4 all who knew her, the death of Ann Landwirth Nickoll of Los 5 Angeles, California and formerly of Peoria, Illinois; and be 6 it further 7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 8 presented to the family of Ann Landwirth Nickoll with our 9 sincere condolences.
