92_SR0098 LRB9208582RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of J.C. Valentine of Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on 5 March 25, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, J.C. Valentine was born on March 18, 1927, in 7 Lawrence County, Tennessee, to Bob and Lettie Boger 8 Valentine; he was a veteran of the United States Army; and 9 WHEREAS, J.C. Valentine was a member of United Auto 10 Workers Local 974; he was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. for 11 more than 31 years, retiring in 1981; Mr. Valentine was also 12 a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Peoria, Illinois; 13 and 14 WHEREAS, The passing of J.C. Valentine will be deeply 15 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 54 16 years, Ruby; his daughter, Linda (husband, Tom) Abbott; his 17 sons, Stan (wife, Sandy) Valentine and Chris (wife, Julie) 18 Valentine; his sisters, MaryAlice Heartsfield and Dean 19 Reiser; his brother, Jimmy Valentine; his seven 20 grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren; therefore, 21 be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 24 all who knew him, the death of J.C. Valentine of Peoria, 25 Illinois; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to the family of J.C. Valentine with our sincere 28 condolences.
