92_SR0096 LRB9208592KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Bill G. Colburn of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away 5 on March 21, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Bill Colburn was born in Chandlerville, Illinois 7 on May 3, 1929; his parents were Charles Glenwood and 8 Florence Blair Colburn; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Colburn was a graduate of Virginia High 10 School, Northwestern University, and the Northwestern 11 University Law School in 1952; since 1956 he practiced law in 12 the city of Jacksonville; he founded Lincoln-Douglas Savings 13 and Loan with his father in 1962; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Colburn was a veteran of the United States 15 Air Force, serving during the Korean War; he was president of 16 the Cass County Abstract Company and was a member of the 17 Morgan County Bar Association, the Jacksonville Elks Club, 18 American Legion Post 279, and VFW Post 1379; and 19 WHEREAS, The passing of Bill G. Colburn will be deeply 20 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, 21 Charles (wife, Lynn) Colburn; his daughter, Linda (husband, 22 Art Tustin) Colburn; his two grandchildren; and his partner, 23 Jane Hadden; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 26 of Bill Colburn and offer our sympathies at this time; and be 27 it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to the family of Bill G. Colburn.
