92_SJ0083 LRB9218127DHgc 1 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution No. 72, with 3 which the House of Representatives concurred, it was resolved 4 by the Ninety-Second General Assembly of the State of 5 Illinois, among other things, that: 6 A. the Illinois Auditor General undertake a 7 management audit of the Illinois State Toll Highway 8 Authority to determine whether the Toll Highway Authority 9 is managing or using its resources, including toll and 10 investment-generated revenue, personnel, property, 11 equipment, and space, in an economical and efficient 12 manner; and that 13 B. the audit make recommendations to correct any 14 inefficiencies or uneconomical practices; and that 15 C. the audit, in addition, examine the process by 16 which the Authority collects, transports, counts, and 17 deposits toll collections; and that 18 D. the Auditor General complete the audit within one 19 year of the date of final passage of Senate Joint 20 Resolution 72; and 21 WHEREAS, It is essential that, before the Illinois State 22 Toll Highway Authority decides to increase tolls, the 23 Illinois State Toll Highway Authority has the benefit of the 24 information and recommendations contained in the management 25 audit and the opportunity to implement those recommendations; 26 therefore be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF 29 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we respectfully 30 direct the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to refrain 31 from increasing tolls until after the management audit is 32 completed and the recommendations contained therein are 33 implemented; and be it further -2- LRB9218127DHgc 1 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be delivered to 2 the Auditor General and the Illinois State Toll Highway 3 Authority.
