Amend Senate Bill 2223, on page 1, 3 line 5, after "10-30", by inserting "and adding Section 4 15-13"; and 5 on page 7, immediately below line 4, by inserting the 6 following: 7 "(225 ILCS 65/15-13 new) 8 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2008) 9 Sec. 15-13. License pending status. 10 (a) A graduate of an advanced practice nursing program 11 may practice in the State of Illinois in the role of 12 certified clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse midwife, 13 certified nurse practitioner, or certified registered nurse 14 anesthetist for not longer than 6 months provided he or she 15 submits all of the following: 16 (1) An application for licensure as an advanced 17 practice nurse in Illinois. 18 (2) Proof of an application to take the national 19 certification examination in the specialty. 20 (3) Proof of completion of a graduate advanced 21 practice education program that allows the applicant to 22 be eligible for national certification in a clinical -2- LRB9213174ACcdam01 1 advanced practice nursing speciality and that allows the 2 applicant to be eligible for licensure in Illinois in the 3 area of his or her specialty. 4 (4) Proof of that he or she is licensed in Illinois 5 as a registered professional nurse. 6 (5) Proof that he or she has a completed proposed 7 collaborative agreement or practice agreement as required 8 under Section 15-15 or 15-25 of this Act. 9 (6) The license application fee as set by rule. 10 (b) License pending status shall preclude delegation of 11 prescriptive authority. 12 (c) A graduate practicing in accordance with this 13 Section must use the title "license pending certified 14 clinical nurse specialist", "license pending certified nurse 15 midwife", "license pending certified nurse practitioner", or 16 "license pending certified registered nurse anesthetist", 17 whichever is applicable.".
