The sum of $10,000,000, or so much thereof 23 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 24 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as 25 incentive grants to Illinois higher education institutions in 26 the competition for external grants and contracts. 27 Section 45. The sum of $16,592,500, or so much thereof 28 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 29 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as -4- LRB9207041KBkbA 1 grants authorized by Section 3 of the Illinois Financial 2 Assistance Act for Nonpublic Institutions of Higher Learning. 3 Section 50. The sum of $5,616,700, or so much thereof as 4 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education 5 Assistance Fund to the Board of Higher Education for 6 distribution as grants authorized by Section 3 of the 7 Illinois Financial Assistance Act for Nonpublic Institutions 8 of Higher Learning. 9 Section 55. The sum of $17,929,500, or so much thereof 10 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 11 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as 12 grants authorized by the Health Services Education Grants 13 Act. 14 Section 60. The sum of $3,033,800, or so much thereof as 15 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education 16 Assistance Fund to the Board of Higher Education for 17 distribution as grants authorized by the Health Services 18 Education Grants Act. 19 Section 65. The sum of $2,800,000, or so much thereof as 20 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 21 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as 22 engineering equipment grants authorized by Section 9.13 of 23 the Board of Higher Education Act. 24 Section 70. The sum of $3,500,000, or so much thereof as 25 may be necessary, is appropriated from the BHE Federal Grants 26 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for grants from funds 27 provided under the Eisenhower Professional Development 28 Program. 29 Section 75. The sum of $3,445,000, or so much thereof as -5- LRB9207041KBkbA 1 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 2 Fund to the Department of Public Health for distribution of 3 medical education scholarships authorized by an Act to 4 provide grants for family practice residency programs and 5 medical student scholarships through the Illinois Department 6 of Public Health. 7 Section 80. The sum of $1,800,000, or so much thereof as 8 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 9 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as 10 grants authorized by the Illinois Consortium for Educational 11 Opportunity Act. 12 Section 85. The sum of $25,000, or so much thereof as 13 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education 14 Assistance Fund to the Board of Higher Education for the 15 Illinois Occupational Information Coordinating Committee. 16 Section 90. The sum of $10,000,000, or so much thereof as 17 may be necessary, is appropriated from the BHE Federal Grants 18 Fund to the Board of Higher Education to be expended under 19 the terms and conditions associated with the federal 20 contracts and grants moneys received. 21 Section 95. The sum of $2,100,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 23 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for distribution as 24 grants for Cooperative Work Study Programs to institutions of 25 higher education. 26 Section 100. The sum of $15,000,000, or so much thereof 27 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education 28 Assistance Fund to the Board of Higher Education for costs 29 related to the Illinois Century Network backbone, costs for -6- LRB9207041KBkbA 1 connecting colleges, universities, and others to the 2 backbone, and other costs related to development, use, and 3 maintenance of the Illinois Century Network. 4 Section 105. The sum of $75,000, or so much thereof as 5 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 6 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for graduation 7 incentives grants. 8 Section 110. The sum of $175,000, or so much thereof as 9 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 10 Fund to the Board of Higher Education for a grant to the 11 Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy for the Career 12 Academy. 13 Section 115. The sum of $610,000, or so much thereof as 14 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 15 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Chicago State University for 16 all costs related to the following programs, including 17 payment to the University for personal services and related 18 costs incurred, in the approximate amounts set forth below: 19 Minority Internship Program..................... $325,000 20 Tech Know Camp.................................. $140,000 21 Chicago Engineering Consortium.................. $145,000 22 Section 120. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as 23 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 24 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Chicago State University for 25 all costs related to the Center for Assessment, including 26 payment to the University for personal services and related 27 costs incurred. 28 Section 125. The sum of $250,000, or so much thereof as 29 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue -7- LRB9207041KBkbA 1 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Chicago State University for 2 all costs required to match the Federal Title II Teacher 3 Quality Enhancement State Grant, including payment to the 4 University for personal services and related costs incurred. 5 Section 130. The sum of $184,400, or so much thereof as 6 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 7 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University 8 for all costs related to the following programs, including 9 payment to the University for personal services and related 10 costs incurred, in the approximate amounts set forth below: 11 Minority Teacher Identification and Enrichment 12 Program..................................... $99,400 13 Developing Alternative Routes to 14 Certification............................... $85,000 15 Section 135. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as 16 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 17 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University 18 for all costs related to the Student Assessment Program, 19 including payment to the University for personal services and 20 related costs incurred. 21 Section 140. The sum of $325,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 23 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University 24 for all costs related to the Computer Information System 25 Program, including payment to the University for personal 26 services and related costs incurred. 27 Section 145. The sum of $50,000, or so much thereof as 28 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 29 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University 30 for all costs related to Elementary/Early Childhood Education -8- LRB9207041KBkbA 1 Programs, including payment to the University for personal 2 services and related costs incurred. 3 Section 150. The sum of $220,000, or so much thereof as 4 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 5 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Governors State University 6 for all costs related to the following programs, including 7 payment to the University for personal services and related 8 costs incurred, in the approximate amounts set forth below: 9 Project HOPE: Partnership for Hispanic 10 Opportunity Program......................... $120,000 11 Learning in Context............................. $100,000 12 Section 155. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as 13 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 14 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Governors State University 15 for all costs related to Online Bachelor of Arts Degree 16 Completion in Business Technology, including payment to the 17 University for personal services and related costs incurred. 18 Section 160. The sum of $150,000, or so much thereof as 7 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 8 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois 9 University for all costs related to the following programs, 10 including payment to the University for personal services and 11 related costs incurred, in the approximate amounts set forth 12 below: 13 The University Scholars Program................. $100,000 14 Preparing Future Teachers to Integrate Substance 15 Abuse Prevention............................ $50,000 16 Section 175. The sum of $250,000, or so much thereof as 17 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 18 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois 19 University for all costs required to match the Federal Title 20 II Teacher Quality Enhancement State Grant, including payment 21 to the University for personal services and related costs 22 incurred. 23 Section 180. The sum of $250,000, or so much thereof as 7 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 8 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University 9 for all costs required to match the Federal Title II Teacher 10 Quality Enhancement State Grant for Southern Illinois 11 University at Carbondale, including payment to the University 12 for personal services and related costs incurred. 13 Section 210. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 14 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 15 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University 16 for all costs related to the Project GAIN (Get Ahead in 17 Nursing) Program, including payment to the University for 18 personal services and related costs incurred, for Southern 19 Illinois University at Edwardsville. 20 Section 215. The sum of $250,000, or so much thereof as 21 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 22 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University 23 for all costs required to match the Federal Title II Teacher 24 Quality Enhancement State Grant for Southern Illinois 25 University at Edwardsville, including payment to the 26 University for personal services and related costs incurred. 27 Section 220. The sum of $90,000, or so much thereof as 10 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 11 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois 12 for all costs related to the Support Enhancement for Minority 13 Students Interested in Teaching Program, including payment to 14 the University for personal services and related costs 15 incurred, for the University of Illinois at Springfield. 16 Section 230. The sum of $300,000, or so much thereof as 17 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 18 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois 19 for all costs related to the development of online courses, 20 including payment to the University for personal services and 21 related costs incurred. 22 Section 235. The sum of $870,000, or so much thereof as 11 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 12 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois 13 for all costs related to the Illinois Digital Academic 14 Library, including payment to the University for personal 15 services and related costs incurred. 16 Section 250. The sum of $105,000, or so much thereof as 17 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 18 Fund to the Illinois Community College Board for a grant to 19 Carl Sandburg College for all costs related to the Faculty 20 Exchange, Minority Recruitment and Retention Program. 21 Section 255. The sum of $105,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 23 Fund to the Illinois Community College Board for a grant to 24 Parkland College for the Creating Inclusive Educational 25 Communities for Minority Students Program. 26 Section 260. Effective date. This Act take effect on 24 July 1, 2001.
