1 AN ACT making appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 ARTICLE 1
5 Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much
6 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
7 for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the
8 State Fire Marshal, as follows:

16 Section 2. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as
17 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
18 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
19 the purpose of funding expenses associated with processing
20 backlogged files pursuant to the Leaking Underground Storage
21 Tank Program.
22 Section 2a. The sum of $553,400, or so much thereof as
23 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
24 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
25 costs associated with the development and implementation of a
26 Global Positioning System (GPS) program for field staff
27 access and auditing data collection and reporting on
28 underground storage tank systems in Illinois.
29 Section 3. The sum of $276,500, or so much thereof as
30 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
31 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for

1 costs associated with compliance certification of underground
2 storage tanks.
3 Section 4. The sum of $175,000, or so much thereof as
4 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Illinois
5 Firefighters' Memorial Fund to the Office of the State Fire
6 Marshal for expenses related to the maintenance of the
7 Illinois Firefighters' Memorial, holding the annual Fallen
8 Firefighter and Firefighter Medal of Honor Ceremonies, and
9 other expenses as allowed under Public Act 91-0832.
10 Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much
11 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
12 to the Office of the State Fire Marshal as follows:
13 Payable from the Fire Prevention Fund:

15 For Expenses of Life Safety
16 Code Inspection Program...................... 50,000
17 For Expenses of Fire Prevention

1 Section 6. The following named amounts, or so much
2 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
3 for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the
4 State Fire Marshal, as follows:
5 GRANTS
6 Payable from the Fire Prevention Fund:
7 For Chicago Fire Department Training Program $ 1,176,500
8 For payment to local governmental agencies
9 which participate in the State Training
10 Programs..................................... 350,000
11 For Regional Training Grants ................. 300,000
12 Total $1,826,500
13 Section 7. The sum of $550,000, or so much thereof as
14 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Underground
15 Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
16 a grant to the City of Chicago for Administrative Costs
17 incurred as a result of the State's Underground Storage
18 Program.
19 Section 8. The sum of $2,000, or so much thereof as may
20 be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire Prevention Fund
21 to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for grants available
22 for the development of new fire districts.
23 Section 9. The sum of $200,000, or so much thereof as
24 may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close of
25 business on June 30, 2001, from appropriations heretofore
26 made for such purpose in Article 46, Section 10 of Public Act
27 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital
28 Development Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
29 a grant to the City of Anna for the fire station and
30 property.

1 Section 10. The amount of $40,000, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close of
3 business on June 30, 2001, from an appropriation heretofore
4 made for such purpose in Article 46, Section 22 of Public Act
5 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for
6 Illinois' Future to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
7 a grant to the City of Granite City for the purpose of
8 purchasing fire equipment.
9 Section 11. The amount of $10,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close of
11 business on June 30, 2001, from appropriations heretofore
12 made for such purpose in Article 46, Section 26 of Public Act
13 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for
14 Illinois' Future to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
15 a grant to the City of Prairie Grove for the purchase of fire
16 station equipment.
17 Section 12. The amount of $550,000, or so much thereof
18 as may be necessary, and as remains unexpended at the close
19 of business on June 30, 2001, from appropriations heretofore
20 made for such purpose in Article 46, Section 27 of Public Act
21 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for
22 Illinois' Future to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
23 units of local government for public safety infrastructure
24 improvements including but not limited to facilities,
25 vehicles and equipment.
26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
27 July 1, 2001.
