1 AN ACT making appropriations for the Office of the State
2 Appellate Defender.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much of
6 those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the
7 objects and purposes named, are appropriated to meet the
8 ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the State
9 Appellate Defender:
10 For Personal Services........................... $9,922,720
11 For Employee Retirement Contributions
12 Paid by Employer....................$396,909
13 For State Contribution to State Employees'
14 Retirement System........................... 996,241
15 For State Contributions to Social Security...... 759,088
16 For Contractual Services........................ 2,721,808
17 For Travel...................................... 121,507
18 For Commodities................................. 84,499
19 For Printing.................................... 33,501
20 For Equipment................................... 1,057,741
21 For Telecommunications.......................... 410,535

25 Section 10. The following named amounts, or so much of
26 those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, are
27 appropriated to the Office of the State Appellate Defender
28 for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Capital
29 Litigation Division:

13 Section 15. The following named amounts, so much of
14 those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the
15 objects and purposes named, are appropriated to the Office of
16 the State Appellate Defender for expenses related to
17 federally assisted programs to work on drug and violent
18 crimes appeals cases to which the agency is appointed and to
19 provide statewide training to Illinois public defenders:
20 Payable from Federal Trust Fund................. $325,000
21 For State matching purposes:
22 Payable from State Project Fund............. 106,300
23 Section 20. The amount of $2,465,471, or such much of
24 that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the
25 Capital Litigation Trust Fund to the Office of the State
26 Appellate Defender for expenses incurred in providing
27 assistance to trial attorneys under item (c)(5) of Section 10
28 of the State Appellate Defender Act.
29 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
30 1, 2001.
