92_SB1254enr SB1254 Enrolled LRB9201379JScs 1 AN ACT in relation to insurance. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by 5 adding Section 356z.1 as follows: 6 (215 ILCS 5/356z.1 new) 7 Sec. 356z.1. Prenatal HIV testing. An individual or 8 group policy of accident and health insurance that provides 9 maternity coverage and is amended, delivered, issued, or 10 renewed after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 11 the 92nd General Assembly must provide coverage for prenatal 12 HIV testing ordered by an attending physician licensed to 13 practice medicine in all its branches, or by a physician 14 assistant or advanced practice registered nurse who has a 15 written collaborative agreement with a collaborating 16 physician that authorizes these services, including but not 17 limited to orders consistent with the recommendations of the 18 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists or the 19 American Academy of Pediatrics. 20 Section 10. The Health Maintenance Organization Act is 21 amended by changing Section 4-6.5 as follows: 22 (215 ILCS 125/4-6.5) 23 Sec. 4-6.5. Required health benefits. A health 24 maintenance organization is subject to the provisions of 25 Sections 356t,and356u, and 356z.1 of the Illinois Insurance 26 Code. 27 (Source: P.A. 90-7, eff. 6-10-97.) 28 Section 15. The Voluntary Health Services Plans Act is SB1254 Enrolled -2- LRB9201379JScs 1 amended by changing Section 10 as follows: 2 (215 ILCS 165/10) (from Ch. 32, par. 604) 3 Section 10. Application of Insurance Code provisions. 4 Health services plan corporations and all persons interested 5 therein or dealing therewith shall be subject to the 6 provisions of Articles IIA and XII 1/2 and Sections 3.1, 133, 7 140, 143, 143c, 149, 354, 355.2, 356r, 356t, 356u, 356v, 8 356w, 356x, 356y, 356z.1, 367.2, 368a, 401, 401.1, 402, 403, 9 403A, 408, 408.2, and 412, and paragraphs (7) and (15) of 10 Section 367 of the Illinois Insurance Code. 11 (Source: P.A. 90-7, eff. 6-10-97; 90-25, eff. 1-1-98; 90-655, 12 eff. 7-30-98; 90-741, eff. 1-1-99; 91-406, eff. 1-1-00; 13 91-549, eff. 8-14-99; 91-605, eff. 12-14-99; 91-788, eff. 14 6-9-00.) 15 Section 99.
