1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 993
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 993 on page 1,
3 line 10, after the period, by inserting the following:
4 "An order for support entered or modified on or after January
5 1, 2002 shall contain a statement that a support obligation
6 required under the order, or any portion of a support
7 obligation required under the order, that becomes due and
8 remains unpaid for 30 days or more shall accrue simple
9 interest at the rate of 9% per annum. Failure to include the
10 statement in the order for support does not affect the
11 validity of the order or the accrual of interest as provided
12 in this Section."; and
13 on page 7, line 24, after the period, by inserting the
14 following:
15 "An order for support entered or modified on or after January
16 1, 2002 shall contain a statement that a support obligation
17 required under the order, or any portion of a support
18 obligation required under the order, that becomes due and
19 remains unpaid for 30 days or more shall accrue simple
20 interest at the rate of 9% per annum. Failure to include the
21 statement in the order for support does not affect the
22 validity of the order or the accrual of interest as provided
23 in this Section."; and

1 on page 13, line 15, after the period, by inserting the
2 following:
3 "An order for support entered or modified on or after January

12 on page 13, line 23, after the period, by inserting the
