Amend Senate Bill 930, AS AMENDED, 3 as follows: 4 by replacing the title with the following: 5 "AN ACT in relation to public transportation."; and 6 below the enacting clause, by inserting the following: 7 "Section 3. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is 8 amended by adding Section 28d as follows: 9 (70 ILCS 3605/28d new) 10 Sec. 28d. Persons prohibited from operating public 11 transit vehicles. A person who is not in possession of a 12 valid driver's license issued by the State of Illinois may 13 not operate a public transit vehicle. As used in this 14 Section, a "public transit vehicle" includes any vehicle 15 owned, leased, or operated by the Authority. An employee 16 whose driver's license has been suspended, revoked, or 17 cancelled or who is otherwise disqualified from driving shall 18 be given 180 calendar days from the date the employee is 19 notified of the suspension, revocation, cancellation, or 20 disqualification to obtain full reinstatement of his or her 21 driving privileges.".
