1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding
2 Section 12-821.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
6 changing Section 12-821 as follows:
7 (625 ILCS 5/12-821 new)
8 Sec. 12-821. Notice to motorists.
9 (a) Every school bus must display a notice informing
10 occupants of other vehicles of a toll free number that they
11 may call to report traffic violations by school bus drivers.
12 (b) The notice required by subsection (a) must include
13 the words "How's my driving?" along with the toll free
14 number. The notice must meet the specifications and mounting
15 requirements established by the Department of Transportation.
16 (c) The Secretary of State shall establish the toll free
17 number. The Secretary shall send to the company or school
18 district that owns the school bus written notice of any
19 reported violations, including the date, time, nature, and
20 location of the offense.
