Amend Senate Bill 727 on page 5, by 3 replacing lines 7 through 24 with the following: 4 "(e) After a finding of guilt and prior to any final 5 sentencing, or an order for supervision, for an offense based 6 upon a violation of this Section or a similar provision of a 7 local ordinance, the person shall be required to undergo an 8 evaluation by a program licensed by the Department of Human 9 Services to determine if an alcohol, drug, or intoxicating 10 compound abuse problem exists and the extent of the problem. 11 Programs conducting these evaluations shall be licensed by 12 the Department of Human Services. The person shall be 13 required to complete the program's recommendation for 14 intervention in accordance with the rules adopted by the 15 Department of Human Services unless otherwise ordered by the 16 court. The cost of any such evaluation or compliance with 17 any intervention recommendation shall be paid for by the 18 person, subject to rules governing indigents as provided for 19 by the Department of Human Services.After a finding of guilt20and prior to any final sentencing, or an order for21supervision, for an offense based upon an arrest for a22violation of this Section or a similar provision of a local23ordinance, individuals shall be required to undergo a24professional evaluation to determine if an alcohol, drug, or-2- LRB9207996RCpkam 1intoxicating compound abuse problem exists and the extent of2the problem.
