1 AN ACT relating to schools.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5 Section 6-18 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/6-18) (from Ch. 122, par. 6-18)
7 Sec. 6-18. Meeting dates - Place - Quorum. The regional
8 board of school trustees shall hold a regular meeting in
9 meetings on the first Monday of July, October, January and
10 April; however, in case the first Monday of any of these
11 months falls on a legal holiday the regular meeting shall be
12 held on the next day. With appropriate public notice, the
13 board may cancel its regular quarterly meeting if no issues
14 for action have been presented to the board and it has no
15 pending business.
16 All regular meetings of the board shall be held at the
17 office of the regional superintendent.
18 Special meetings may be called by the president or by 4
19 members of the board by giving a 48-hour written notice of
20 the meeting stating the time and place of the meeting and the
21 purpose thereof. Public notice of meetings must also be
22 given as prescribed in Sections 2.02 and 2.03 of the Open
23 Meetings Act.
24 A majority of the members elected to the board shall
25 constitute a quorum. Unless otherwise provided a majority
26 vote of all the board shall be required to decide a measure.
