1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 231
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 231, on page 3, in
3 lines 2 and 3, by replacing "with less than 3,000,000
4 inhabitants" with "with less than 3,000,000 in habitants";
5 and
6 on page 3, by inserting the following immediately after line
7 21:
8 "The county collector of each county with 3,000,000 or
9 more inhabitants shall provide to each person allowed a
10 homestead exemption under this Section a form to designate
11 any other person to receive a duplicate of any notice of
12 delinquency in the payment of taxes assessed and levied under
13 this Code on the property of the person receiving the
14 exemption. The duplicate notice shall be in addition to the
15 notice required to be provided to the person receiving the
16 exemption, and shall be given in the manner required by this
17 Code. The person filing the request for the duplicate notice
18 shall pay a fee of $5 to cover administrative costs to the
19 county collector. Notwithstanding any other provision of
20 this Code to the contrary, the filing of such an executed
21 designation requires the county collector to provide
22 duplicate notices as indicated by the designation. A
23 designation may be rescinded by the person who executed such

1 designation at any time, in the manner and form required by
2 the county collector.".
