1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 114
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 114, AS AMENDED,
3 in Section 5, Sec. 2.2, subsection (a), paragraph (3), by
4 changing "72" to "72 hours"; and
5 in Section 5, Sec. 2.2, subsection (b), in the sentence that
6 begins "Within 120 days", by changing "must develop and
7 implement a protocol" to "must develop a protocol" and by
8 changing "the emergency room physician" to "a physician"; and
9 in Section 5, Sec. 2.2, after the last line of subsection
10 (b), by inserting the following:
11 "The hospital shall implement the protocol upon approval
12 by the Department. The Department shall adopt rules and
13 regulations establishing one or more safe harbor protocols
14 and setting minimum acceptable protocol standards that
15 hospitals may develop and implement. The Department shall
16 approve any protocol that meets those standards. The
17 Department may provide a sample acceptable protocol upon
18 request.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
20 January 1, 2002.".
