92_SB0008 LRB9200945MWpk 1 AN ACT concerning street light districts. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Street Light District Act is amended by 5 changing Section 5 as follows: 6 (70 ILCS 3305/5) (from Ch. 121, par. 359) 7 Sec. 5. Trustees; powers and duties. The trustees shall 8 exercise all of the powers and control all the affairs and 9 property of such district. The board of trustees, immediately 10 after their appointment and at their first meeting in May of 11 each year thereafter, shall elect one of their number as 12 president and one of their number as secretary. The board 13 shall prescribe the duties and fix the compensation of all of 14 the officers and employees of the street lighting district.:15Provided thatA member of the board of trustees, however, 16 shall in no case receive a sum to exceed $300.00 per annum, 17 except that trustees whose terms begin on or after the first 18 Monday in May, 2002 shall in no case receive a sum to exceed 19 $1,000 per annum. The board of trustees shall have full power 20 to pass all necessary ordinances, rules and regulations for 21 the proper management and conduct of the business of the 22 street lighting district for carrying into effect the objects 23 for which the district was formed. 24 (Source: Laws 1953, p. 226.) 25 Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding 26 Section 8.25 as follows: 27 (30 ILCS 805/8.25 new) 28 Sec. 8.25. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 29 and 8 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required -2- LRB9200945MWpk 1 for the implementation of any mandate created by this 2 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly. 3 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 4 1, 2001.
