92_HR1040 LRB9217659ACac 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The House of Representatives is pleased to honor 3 the achievements of the citizens of the State of Illinois; 4 and 5 WHEREAS, Margaret Farina of Riverside, Illinois is a 6 fellow in the Illinois Lincoln Excellence in Public Service 7 Series, Class of 2002; she will graduate on September 26, 8 2002 in a ceremony at McDonald's Lodge in Oak Brook, 9 Illinois; and 10 WHEREAS, The mission of the Illinois Lincoln Excellence 11 in Public Service Series, Inc., is to increase the number of 12 Illinois Republican women in elected and appointed 13 governmental and political positions at the local, State, and 14 federal levels; fellows complete 9 months of education and 15 training in the Republican system in Illinois, including 16 public speaking, campaigning, fund raising, volunteering, and 17 other aspects of a public campaign; and 18 WHEREAS, Margaret Farina is one of 14 fellows selected 19 from a statewide field of applicants who have demonstrated 20 leadership skills in their fields of work or service to their 21 community; and 22 WHEREAS, Margaret Farina is the Director of Government 23 Relations for the American Cancer Society, Illinois Division, 24 Inc., where she oversees State and federal initiatives; in 25 the past, Margaret has worked as a policy analyst for House 26 Republican Leader Lee A. Daniels and as a legislative aide to 27 State Representative James H. Meyer; and 28 WHEREAS, Margaret Farina serves as a commissioner on the 29 Economic Development Commission in Riverside, Illinois, 30 teaches religious education at St. Mary School, and is a 31 precinct captain for the Riverside Regular Township -2- LRB9217659ACac 1 Republican Organization; she also is a member of The Art 2 Institute of Chicago and the Ludem Cordium Society of the 3 Archdiocese of Chicago; therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 5 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 6 we congratulate Margaret Farina on her graduation from the 7 Illinois Lincoln Excellence in Public Service Series on 8 September 26, 2002; we commend her for her dedication and 9 wish her the best of luck in the future; and be it further 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 11 presented to Margaret Farina as an expression of our esteem.
