1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Lillian
6 Buckley is leaving her position as principal of Saints Cyril
7 and Methodius School in Lemont; and
8 WHEREAS, Lillian graduated from Nativity of Our Lord
9 Grammar School, Visitation High School, and, in 1972, the
10 College of St. Francis in Joliet; and
11 WHEREAS, Lillian dedicated two years of service to her
12 country through her participation in Vista (Volunteers in
13 Service to America) after her graduation from college; and
14 WHEREAS, Lillian was married to her husband, Perry
15 Buckley, on August 17, 1975; and
16 WHEREAS, Lillian began her teaching career at St. Lucy
17 School in Chicago, and then moved to St. David School in
18 Chicago; and
19 WHEREAS, Lillian has successfully served as principal at
20 Saints Cyril and Methodius from 1982 to 2002; and
21 WHEREAS, Under Lillian's leadership, the school has
22 achieved and maintained an exceptional academic program that
23 has resulted in a tripling of the school's enrollment;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Lillian Buckley on her fine service to Saints
28 Cyril and Methodius, and we wish her well in all of her
29 future endeavors; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Lillian Buckley as an expression of our esteem.
