1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the members of
3 the Illinois House of Representatives that May is "Better
4 Speech and Hearing Month"; and
5 WHEREAS, The Sertoma Speech & Hearing Centers are
6 dedicated to helping individuals with speech and hearing
7 problems; and
8 WHEREAS, Their mission statement says that Sertoma
9 focuses on providing quality professional service to all
10 people who are speech or hearing impaired regardless of their
11 income level; and
12 WHEREAS, All funds earned by the Sertoma Speech & Hearing
13 Centers are turned back into the Centers, for use in their
14 many services; the services that are provided include speech
15 and hearing assessments, treatment, fitting of communication
16 devices, and educational services to individuals and other
17 institutions; and
18 WHEREAS, All age groups are cared for by the Sertoma
19 Speech & Hearing Centers; the variety of services provided
20 and the level of caring show that the Sertoma Speech &
21 Hearing Centers are a vital part of the State of Illinois;
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate the men and women of the Sertoma Speech &
26 Hearing Centers on their hard work and dedication to caring
27 for the needs of others; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Doctor David J. Rompala, Executive Director of
30 the Sertoma Speech & Hearing Centers.
