92_HR0802 LRB9216624RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone events in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Sister Susan M. Sanders, RSM, Ph.D., is the 6 Director of the Center for Religion and Public Discourse and 7 an Associate Professor of Public Policy at Saint Xavier 8 University in Chicago, where she teaches ethics, policy 9 analysis and implementation, statistics, and nonprofit 10 organizational behavior; and 11 WHEREAS, Sister Susan received her Ph.D. from the Harris 12 School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago in 1991; 13 she taught at Mother McAuley High School, the University of 14 California-Berkeley, the University of Chicago, and DePaul 15 University before joining the Saint Xavier community in 2001; 16 and 17 WHEREAS, Professor Sanders is widely published in 18 academic policy and trade journals and is currently 19 researching the problem of teen dating violence among high 20 school students; her book, "The Invisible Peril: The Problem 21 of Teen Dating Violence," will be published this year; and 22 WHEREAS, Sister Susan Sanders, RSM, Ph.D. will be honored 23 by Mother McAuley High School on April 12, 2002 with the 24 Distinguished Alumna Award in recognition of her influence in 25 the tradition of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy; 26 therefore, be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 28 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 29 we congratulate Sister Susan Sanders, RSM, Ph.D. on receiving 30 the Distinguished Alumna Award presented by Mother McAuley 31 High School; and be it further -2- LRB9216624RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to Sister Susan Sanders, RSM, Ph.D. as an 3 expression of our esteem.
