1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Joseph Barbaro was born in Sicily on March 22,
3 1912, and came to the United States in 1920 with his family;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Joseph Barbaro was married to his beloved Martha
6 on April 11, 1935, and they were blessed with three children,
7 William, Frank, and Diane; and
8 WHEREAS, Joseph Barbaro began his 35-year career with the
9 Chicago Fire Department in 1940, during which time he served
10 as engineer, lieutenant, captain, battalion chief, and
11 finally division marshal; and
12 WHEREAS, In 1979, Joseph Barbaro was appointed as a
13 trustee of the Orland Fire Protection District, and has
14 served until the present day with only a two-year break; he
15 has the longest tenure of any trustee in the history of the
16 Orland Fire Protection District; and
17 WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees and the Orland Fire
18 Protection District will recognize Joseph Barbaro's 20 years
19 of service as Trustee of the Orland Fire Protection District
20 on March 20, 2002; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we honor Joseph Barbaro for his dedication and service to the
24 Orland Fire Protection District for the past 20 years and on
25 the celebration of his 90th birthday; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Joseph Barbaro as an expression of our esteem.
